The Preakness Field and Positions
are set for the 149th Preakness Stakes
at Pimlico Race Course...!
BALTIMORE, MD (SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-MAY 15-18, 2024)-The Preakness Stakes horse race known for being the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown every year has established the field and locations of the eight horses that will compete at the 149th Preakness Stakes race on Saturday May 18, at Pimlico Race course in Baltimore, MA.
The nine horse race scheduled to compete in the Preakness Stakes dropped to 8, when favorite "Muth" was scratched from the race due to sharp rise of fever on Wednesday May 15, at Pimlico.

Mystik Dan who won the 2024-150th Kentucky Derby two weeks ago at Churchill Down, will try to make it's run for this year Triple Crown if it wins the 149th Preakness Stakes on Saturday May 18, but has two tough competitors like "Catching Freedom (6-1, Odds) " and "Imagination(6-1, Odds) " who will try to play spoiler if either horse win the Preakness on Saturday.
This year purse of the 149th Preakness is $2,000,000
The 149th Preakness Steaks is 1 3/16 mile race run and will take place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on Saturday May 18, with capacity crowd of 110,000 and Tip-off time 7:01pm ET, broadcasted live by NBC.
