The Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts Celebrated Its Annual American Songbook  Benefit, Honoring HBO & its CEO and Chairman Richard Plepler with a Quintessential Gala in New York …!

NEW YORK(SMI-WIRE,05.30.18)-The Lincoln Center for The Performing Arts hosted this evening (May 29), its annual American Songbook Gala honoring HBO & CEO and president Richard Plepler with a quintessential benefit gala at Alice Tully Hall, Star Theater, Adrienne Arsht Stage Lincoln Center.

 

Since launch in 1998, American Songbook has been dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary achievements of the popular American songwriter from the turn of the 20th century to the present day. Spanning all styles and genres from Tin Pam Alley and Broadway to the eclecticism of today's songwriter working in pop, cabaret , rock, folk and country. American Songbook traces the history and charts the course  of the American song from its past and current forms to its future  direction.

 The notable attendees were: The Katherine Farley; Lincoln Center Acting President Russell Granet; Gala Co-Chairs Adrienne Arsht, Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller, Bryan Lourd and Bruce Bozzi; Tony Bennett, Jimmy Buffett, Emilia Clarke, Lena Dunham, John Oliver, Nicole Parker, Paul Shaffer and the Home Box Orchestra, and Keith Urban.

All Proceeds from the gala benefit will support the American Songbook series and Lincoln Center’s other performance festivals, as well as its educational and community initiatives.
