The Lincoln Center Education and Community Engagement Celebration Hosted Its Annual Gala Honoring CEO of Williams Capital " Christopher J. Williams & Janice Savin Williams in New York !

NEW YORK(SMI-WIRE,03.07.18)The Lincoln Center Education & Community Engagement Celebration hosted its annual Gala today, honoring Janice Savin Williams & Christopher J. Williams (CEO of Williams Capital Group), during a snowy Wednesday's evening at The Jazz @ Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.

 

The Lincoln Center Education and Community Engagement Celebration supports activities that help empower communities through arts engagement. Initiatives include: free performances in all five boroughs, low-cost tickets for limited-income families, special outings for veterans, presenting original content for children on the autism spectrum, and sending Teaching Artists to the school districts and classrooms that need them most.    

Over 300 guests including Lincoln Center Board members, champions of education innovation, corporate partners, donors, vendors, friends and professional colleagues attend this event annually.

About Janice Savin Williams and Christopher J. Williams

Janice Savin Williams is Co-Founder and Sr. Principal of The Williams Capital Group, L.P. As Sr. Principal at Williams Capital, she is responsible for developing and servicing the firm’s institutional fixed income relationships and evaluating strategic new business initiatives.

Mrs. Savin Williams has served on the boards of community and professional associations as well as not-for profit organizations including The Fresh Air Fund, ISI, Inc., Roundabout Theater Company, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and North General Hospital.

Currently, Mrs. Savin Williams serves as Vice-Chair and Secretary of the newly-formed board of The Harlem School of the Arts. She also sits on the board of directors of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Women In Need and NAACP-ACTSO; the advisory board of the Partnership With Children and The Brooklyn Prospect Charter School. Additionally, she serves as a Trustee of Tufts University. In 2010, she was appointed Vice Chair of the National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprises by U.S. Commerce Secretary, Gary Locke. Extremely active in the New York City civic and not-for-profit landscape, Mrs. Savin Williams received The 2010 CUP Leadership Award, The African American Heritage Award from The City of New York, the Partnership With Children’s 2004 Ann Vanderbilt Award and the 2004 Business Leadership Award of the New York State Supreme Court.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Mrs. Savin Williams earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Tufts University. 

 

Christopher J. Williams is Chairman, CEO and founder of The Williams Capital Group, L.P. and Williams Capital Management, LLC.

Mr. Williams began his career at Lehman Brothers in 1984, and over the course of his tenure, assumed senior management responsibilities in debt capital markets, derivatives, and fixed income trading. Mr. Williams then formed a derivatives division of Jefferies & Company, which later became The Williams Capital Group, L. P. in 1994. Mr. Williams has leveraged his extensive experience in the securities markets to direct the firm’s strategic efforts in investment banking and asset management.

For nearly two decades Williams Capital has consistently ranked among the most active underwriters of equity and investment grade debt offerings. Over this period, Chris has been recognized by Crain’s New York Business, Fortune magazine, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal for his leadership in the financial services industry.

Mr. Williams also serves on the board of directors of Ameriprise Financial, Inc., Caesars Entertainment Corporation, The Clorox Company and Cox Enterprises, Inc. Previously, Mr. Williams also served a 10-year term on the Board of Directors of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. He is also Chairman of the Board of Overseers for the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and serves on the board of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Christopher J. Williams holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
