NEW YORK, NY(SMI-SPORTS, 11.04.-11.06.22)-The TCS New York City Marathon known as the largest annual marathon in the world kicked-off its 51th edition with the opening ceremony and parade of nations walking across the finish line at West-67st/Central Park in celebration to the upcoming 2022 NYRR race to take place on Sunday November 06, in NYC.
 
With over 50,000 runners from professionals & amateurs from 50+ countries are expected run the 26.2 miles across the 5-boroughs of NYC with the starting point in Staten Island and the finish line at 67th Street and Central Park in Manhattan. In addition to the race, over a million spectators are expected to cheer around the runners as they run across the 5-boroughs city line while others will be watching on TV in the US and around the world.

In 2021 NYC Marathon race there were 25,020 finishers from 91 countries with the average finish time 4:39:02.While in 2019 before the pandemic 53,627 finishers registered in that race.

8 a.m. Professional wheelchair division

8:22 a.m. Handcycle category and select athletes with disabilities

8:40 a.m. Professional women

9:05 a.m. Professional men

9:10 a.m. Wave 1

9:45 a.m. Wave 2

10:20 a.m. Wave 3

10:55 a.m. Wave 4

What time are the winners expected to cross the finish line?

9:30 a.m. Professional men’s wheelchair athletes

9:40 a.m. Professional women’s wheelchair athletes

11:05 a.m. Professional women

11:15 a.m. Professional men

Beginning at 11:55 a.m. Finishers throughout the day

8:30 p.m. Final finishers expected to cross the finish line
