NEW YORK, NY (SMI-PHILANTHROPY-AWARDS, DEC 11-13,22)-The CNN annual Heroes:"All Star Tribute" celebrated its 16th edition last Sunday's evening Dec. 11, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Kelly Ripa, and naming Nelly Cheboi from TechLit Africa as the 2022 CNN Hero of the Year, during special presentation award ceremony and broadcasted live through the CNN Network from the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
 
The CNN Heroes "An All Star Tribute " honorees are selected or named annually by the CNN's audience and who also vote to help named the annual CNN Hero winner.

There were 10-honorees comprised of 6-women and 4-men in the 2022 CNN Heroes 'All Star Tribute " who received $10,000 dollars each for their selection while the winner Nelly Cheboi from TechLit Africa will received an additional $100,000 for her cause.
 

After growing up in poverty in Kenya, Nelly Cheboi found her passion in computer science. Today, she and her organization, TechLit Africa, are upcycling computers to teach tech skills and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for a new generation. up in poverty in rural Kenya, Nelly Cheboi watched her single mother, who had only completed fifth grade, work tirelessly so Cheboi and her three sisters could attend school.
