NEW YORK, NY (SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT, AWARDS-10.25-11.27.23)-The Gotham Film & Media Institute will announce the winners of the 33rd Annual Gotham Awards during an award presentation ceremony at the 2023 Gotham Awards on Nov. 27, at Cipriani Wall Street, in New York City.

​

The Gotham Awards provides early recognition and media attention for outstanding and groundbreaking voices in storytelling inclusive of writers, directors, producers and actors. Nominees are selected by committees of film and television critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and others directly involved in making films will determine the final Gotham Award recipients.

 

Twenty feature films, 11 series, and 30 performances have received nominations in ten award categories.

Best Feature nominations went to Passages, Past Lives, Reality, Showing Up, and A Thousand and Onewhile series nominations include Beef, I’m a Virgo, The Last of Us, and Swarm. Performance Nominations Include Penélope Cruz, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams, Charles Melton, Bella Ramsey, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Cailee Spaeny, Michelle Williams, Ali Wong, and Jeffrey Wright.

The Gotham will also present a  series of tributes during the ceremony. Ferrari (Neon) will receive The Gotham Icon & Creator Tribute for Innovation; Maestro (Netflix) will receive The Gotham Cultural Icon & Creator Tribute;Air (Amazon MGM Studios) will receive The Gotham Visionary Icon & Creator Tribute; and Rustin (Netflix) will receive The Gotham Cultural Icon & Creator Tribute for Social Justice. Additional tributes will be announced by The Gotham.
