The National's Largest Celebration of Italian American Culture and Heritage
NEW YORK–(SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT- OCTOBER 14-15, 2024)– The Columbus Citizens foundation celebrated its 80th edition of the NYC Columbus Parade Today Monday Oct. 14,
known as the US Biggest Celebration of Italian American culture, heritage and accomplishments in America took place on Fifth Av. in the heart of New York City.
The Parade march began from 47th street to 72nd Street
with over 100+ floats, bands and Italian club Spirit groups
marched through Fifth Av. waving to the few thousands
fans and crowd that gather alongside Fifth Av. to pay tribute and celebrate the Italian-American heritage and culture and their contribution to America.
This year’s Grand Marshal was Michael T. Strianese, former CEO of L3 Technologies, Inc., an aerospace and national security company marched alongside Vivian Cardia and Carmine Di Sibio as part of the honorees at the parade.
In addition to the Floats, there was a special red carpet at the end of the parade around 68th Street where Italian-American vocalist-entertainer, Natalie Pinto; recording artist and Vegas headliner, Chris Ruggiero; Vittorio Di Carlo, “The Graceful Tenor;” emerging vocal artist,Jessa Salerno; and Italian folk rock band, Amici stopped by and walked the carpet to salute the crowd.
Additional renowned attendees included:Consul General of Italy Fabrizio Di Michele, NY Governor Kathy Hochul, NY State Attorney General Letitia James, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and others
The parade was broadcasted live on ABC Channel 7 from noon to 3 p.m. ABC reporters Sandra Bookman, Mike Marza, and Lauren Glassberg, along with ABC7 reporter Joelle Garguilo and actor and radio host Joe Piscopo, played host on the broadcast and served as masters of ceremonies.
