The 2024 Writers Guild Awards: Screenplay, Television, New Media, News, Radio/Audio, and Promotional Writing Winners were Announced....!

NEW YORK-LOS ANGELES, CA (SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT-AWARDS APRIL 14-15, 2024)-The Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) and Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) announce the winners of the 2024 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional categories of 2023 and during concurrent ceremonies from Los Angeles and New York City.

 

The Writers Guild Awards honor outstanding writing in film, television, new media, news (broadcast and digital), radio/audio, and promotional categories.

 

The 2024 Writers Guild Awards (76th Annual) took place  Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. 

WGAE’s 2024 Writers Guild Awards ceremony was hosted by writer-comedian Josh Gondelman (Desus & Mero, People Pleaser) and Presenters included:

 

Writers Guild Award-winning writer-actor Michael Cyril Creighton (Only Murders in the Building, American Fiction), actor-comedian Bridget Everett (Somebody Somewhere), writer-producer Neil Gaiman (Good Omens), writer-actor-comedian Ilana Glazer (Babes, False Positive), Emmy Award-winning news anchor-podcaster Chris Hayes (All In with Chris Hayes, Why Is This Happening?), SAG Award-winning actor Sandra Oh (The Sympathizer, Quiz Lady), Writers Guild Award-winning writer-actor Larry Owens (Abbott Elementary, Paid Off with Michael Torpey), actor-podcaster-talk show host Busy Philipps (Girls5Eva, Busy This Week), SAG Award-winning actor Reid Scott (Law  & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Emmy Award-nominated and SAG Award-winning actor J. Smith-Cameron (Succession), Writers Guild Award-winning writer-actor Julio Torres (Problemista), Writers Guild Award-nominated writer-actor-comedian Roy Wood, Jr. (The Daily Show, Command Z) and Writers Guild Award-nominated writer-actor-podcaster Bowen Yang (Saturday Night Live, Las Culturistas).

In addition, the WGAE presented several honorary special achievement and service awards at its East Coast ceremony:

Academy Award and Writers Guild Award-nominated writer-producer Beau Willimon (Andor, House of Cards) presented Peabody Award-winning, Academy Award-nominated and Writers Guild Award-nominated writer-director-producer Tony Gilroy (Andor, Michael Clayton) with the Ian McLellan Hunter Award for Career Achievement.

 

Emmy Award-winning writer-director Daniel Minahan(Fellow Travelers, Halston) presented Academy Award and Writers Guild Award-nominated writer Ron Nyswaner (Fellow Travelers, Philadelphia) with the Walter Bernstein Award for creativity, grace and a willingness to confront social injustice.
