NEW YORK, NY (SMI-PHILANTHROPY-ARTS-03.17-03.19.23)-The Big Apple was dressed in Green Today March 17, as NYC celebrated its annual 264th- Saint Patrick's Day Parade, known as the oldest parade in the world, and celebrating Irish culture in the Heart of Manhattan.

The Saint Patrick's Day Parade is recognized as the biggest and the oldest with the Irish celebration in the world, with the first parade held in March 17, 1762, 14-years prior to the United States declaration of independence.

Michael Anthony Benn was the 2025 Grand Marshall and The parade honors the Patron Saint of Ireland and of the Archdiocese of New York with over few hundred band groups from High Schools and universities, Irish-American Organization from across the US, and NY State government & Irish officials marched through Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 77th Street in Manhattan.

New York City turned Green as thousand of Irish-American and citizens from across the US and Ireland gathered to cheer across Fifth Ave to celebrate not only the Patron St Patrick but all Irish related from culture, customs and the people as community in America. 

Cardinal Dolan conducted at Mass prior to the start of the parade at St Patrick's Cathedral to kicked-off the annual 2025-264th edition.

Notable attendees included : New York State Governor Kathy Hochul and NYC Mayor Eric Adams marched through Fifth Ave. followed by marching bands, schools, Universities and other organizations.
