WINNERS IN 24 CATEGORIES OF THE 46TH ANNUAL Documentary EMMY® AWARDS Were Announced

 in New York City..

NEW YORK, NY (SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT-AWARDS,06.25-06.31, 2025)– The winners in 24 categories of the 46th Annual Documentary Emmy® Awards were announced last Thursday's evening June 26, during an award ceremony presented by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), with National Geographic winning Six Emmys follow by Netflix with four-Emmys at the Palladium Times Square in the heart of NYC.

National Geographic won 4-Emmys in the categories: Outstanding Promotional Announcement, Historical,Music Composition, Editing,

Writing and Nature Documentary.

 

In the other hand, Netflix won in the categories: Outstanding Investigative, Business and Economic, Light Direction, and Cinematography Documentary. 

 

Legendary US Documentary Filmmaker, cinematographer, producer and director Jon Else" was honored during the DOC Emmys ceremony with

the 2025 DOC Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the field of documentary filmmaking.

 

In addition to Jon Else being honored with the Lifetime Achievement

award, Michael Kirk (PBS Frontline & Kirk Documentary group), Gordon

Quinn(Kartemquin), & Marcia Smith (Firelight Media) were inducted into the Gold Circle Honor Society while Gemma Cubero del Barrio(Director & Writer for PBS) & Aljernon Tunsil (Firelight Films) into the Silver Circle Honor Society. 

The Gold and Silver Circle Society honors industry leaders who have made lasting contributions to the television industry, with 50 years of distinguished service recognized by the Gold Circle and 25 years by the Silver Circle.
