"Rombauer" wins The 146th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico  in Baltimore, MD…!

BALTIMORE, MD(SMI-SPORTS,05.15.21)-The second leg of the 2021 American Triple Crown horserace concluded with " Rombauer" winning the 146th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, MD.

 

With the win today, French jockey Flavien Prat earned his second major American classic vitory when he was declared the winner of the 2019 Kentucky Derby with Country House -after Maximun Security who finished first was disqualified for interfering with the progress of other horses.

 

2021 Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit and one of the favorite to win the 146th Prekness came very closed to the finish line when down the stretch battled head-to-head with Midnight Bourbon (5-1) but Rombauer (11-1 Odd) came from behind to cross the finish line first and win the 146th Preakness by 3.5 lengths in 1:53.62 at Pimlico.

Rombauer paid $26.50 to win, $10 to place and $5.20 to show.

Midnight Bourbon paid $4.60 to place and $3 to show.

Medina Spirit paid $2.80 to show.

The $2 exacta of Rombauer and Midnight Bourbon paid $98.60.

The $1 trifecta, with Medina Spirit in the third spot, paid $162.70.

The $1 superfecta, with fourth-place finisher Keepmeinmind joining the top three, paid $1,025.50.

The order of finish for the 146th Preakness Stakes was:
