FIFA WORLD-CUP QATAR 2022 (SMI-SPORTS-NOV. 20- DEC. 18, 2022)-The national football(Soccer) team of Croatia defeated Morocco 2-1, in the consolation game for third place of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, at Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar.
With this result, the Croatian team concludes its sixth world cup participation with another sensation run in the global football(Soccer) stage after finishing Runner-up in Russia 2018, and taken 3rd place at Qatar 2022, for the second time since France 1998, in their history at FIFA World Cup tournament.
Croatia also known as "The Blazers " win third place at the world cup after finishing 2nd in group F, with 4-1, victory over Canada and two draws against Morocco and Belgium, advancing to the round of 16, to face Japan.
In the knockout stage, Croatia beat Japan 3-1, in round of 16, and Brazil 4-2, in quarter-final rounds back to back during penalty shots after both games ended in a 1-1, draw, eliminating Japan and the 5-time World Cup champions Brazil out of the tournament.
In the semifinal game, they fell to Argentina 3-0, and ending a sensation performance in the tournament and took 3rd place after defeating Morocco 2-1, in the consolation game.

Croatia opened the score first at 6:25' minute, during a play originated from a free kick through midfielder Lovro Majer who centered the ball to Ivan Perisic inside the penalty area, and immediately headed it to Josko Gvardiol who scored with a flying header to the far left-side upper corner that ended in the back of the net to put Croatia 1-0, over Morocco. ,
"The Atlas Lions" answered back with the equalizer 2-minute later through defender Achraf Dari at 08:15 to even the game 1-1. The goal was originated in similar fashion from a free-kick through the right-side pitch corner, midfielder Hakim Ziyech centered the ball inside the 6-yard arc finding Dari who headed it down to the near right goal post that ended inside the back of the net to tie the game 1-1, and sending the crowd wild.
Both team exchanged counter-attacks through most of the first half and with 4-minutes left at the half, Croatia scored its second goal at 42' minute through Mislav Orsic to put the Blazers ahead 2-1, and sealed the victory.
The goal was scored through a play originated by M Livaja who through the left-side field corner passed the ball to winger Mislav Orsic who inside the penalty area sent a lifting curvy shot to the right-upper corner ending in the back of the net to secure the win of 2-1, for Croatia over Morocco and third place at World Cup Qatar 2022.
