EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ(SMI-GLOBAL SPORTS JUNE 14-JULY 13, 2025)-Borussia Dortmund, the 2nd most acclaimed German Football(Soccer) club from the Bundesliga played a scoreless draw with Fluminense(Brazil), winner of the 2023 Copa Libertadores, and split a point each on their debut in Group F, at MetLife Stadium.

The Brazilians went to the offensive from the start and created more chances of goal than the Germans in the first half, with consecutive counter-attacks in search of the goal and 3-points that will give them the edge in the group stage of the tournament.

Very early in the game, Fluminense's Jhon Arias on a break-away from the right-side field, ran inside the penalty box and shot a right-footed that went over the crossbar for the first attempt of goal at 03:25" mark.

Ten minutes late, Arias once again in another offensive through the right-side field shoot from inside the box sending goalkeeper Gregor Kobel flying and parring the ball away for a corner kick.

Fluminense kept the pressure, midfielder Martinelli tried a curvy right-footed from 25-yards away to the opposite goalpost sending goalkeeper Kobel flying but the ball landed outside for a goal kick at 33' mark and closed-out the half scoreless.

In the second half, the Brazilians picked-up where they left-off and kept trying with counter-attacks in search of the goal. Midfielder Jhon Arias sent a long ball from down field to forward Everaldo who in 2-1, with Augustine Canobbio evaded defender Waldemar Anton and passed it to Canobbio who shot a weak left footed to the hands of goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. 

The Germans re-grouped and answered back with counter-attack of their own when defender Julian Ryerson through the right-side field passed the ball to middle just outside the 18', to midfielder Marcel Sabitzer who shot a  right-footed to the hands of Fluminense's goalkeeper Flavio.

With 22' minute left in the game, Fluminense's midfielder Jhon Arias centered the ball inside the box from a corner kick, and forward Everaldo found the ball out of deflection and shot a right-footed from outside the box to goal but goalkeeper Kobel deflected the ball back on the field for a loose ball and midfielder Notato who was around tried another shot on the rebound but Kobel once again blocked the shot back onto the field for another sensation performance at 68' mark. 

BVB tried the last three counter-attacks without any mayor danger toward Fluminense's goal that resulted in the game finishing in a scoreless draw.
