FIFA WORLD-CUP QATAR 2022 (SMI-SPORTS-NOV. 20- DEC. 18, 2022)-The English national soccer team blanked Senegal 3-0, in the round of 16, advancing to face France in the quarter-final stage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
England who are also known as " The Three Lions ", and who are searching for their 2nd World Cup title, beat the African team in every stats of the game including scoring 3-goals out 8-shots on goal to advance to the quarter-final rounds to for the 10th-time in their World Cup history and face the defending World Cup champions France who defeated Poland 3-1, in another knockout game.
Senegal kicked-off the game with numerous offensive attack from the start and had three separate chances to be on top but failed to execute those opportunities in the first half that resulted to be the difference in the outcome of the game.
In the first a counter-attack very early at 04:00' minute, Senegal's Boulaye Dia, in an effort to outrun two English defenders inside the penalty area loss the ball to goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. "The Lions of Teranga" kept the pressure and during another counter-attack through the right-side field, forward Krepin Diatta centered a perfect pass inside the 18' to Boulaye Dia who kicked a right-footed bouncing-off an English defender to Ismaila Sarr who kicked the ball over the crossbar at 21' minute of the first half.
Senegal kept attacking and on their 3rd counter-attack through the left-side field corner, Ismalia Sarr ran with the ball to just outside the 18' and passed it to to striker Boulaye Dia inside the penalty area who kicked a left-footed towards goal but it was saved by the English's goalkeeper Jordan Pickford who deflected the ball with his left hand to the side field.
With time winding down in the first half, England scored two goals in span of 8' minute through Jordan Henderson at 39' and English captain Harry Kane 45+3 stoppage time to make it 2-0, over Senegal at the half.
In a counter-attack through the left-side field corner, Jude Bellingham received a pass from the backfield who ran inside the 18' with the ball and crossed it to
Jordan Henderson who shot a rolling left-footed to the far corner to make it 1-0, in favor of England over Senegal. " The Three Lions " kept the pressure and 8-minute later increased its lead to 2-0, when in another counter-attack through the middle, Jude Bellingham passed the ball to Phil Foden who immediately
crossed it to Harry Kane who ran inside the penalty area and shot a canon to the far goal post corner to increase the lead for England 2-0, over Senegal at the end of the first half.
In the second half, The English picked-up where they left-off and controlled the ball and the midfield the rest of the game.With " The Three Lions " leading 2-0, the third goal arrived at 57' through Bukayo Saka to make it 3-0, and sealed the victory of 3-0, for England over Senegal.
