Fordham Beat Sacred Heart, 44- 22 in NCAA FCS & Advances To Face New Hampshire !

NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,11.29.14) Two well known schools from the metropolitan area 'Fordham & Sacred Heart" with great athletic football programs, collided today in a showdown for the second consecutive year, in the first round of the NCAA FCS,where the Rams defeated Sacred Heart, 44-22 during a saturday afternoon @ Jack Coffey Field, Fordham University..
Fordham's offensive attack battled Sacred Heart defensive line, that is ranked first in the NCAA FCS in first downs, red zone defense & top ten in the nation in total defense, by capitalizing on Sacred Heart Special team mistake from fumbles and punt kicks that allowed them to score & seal the victory over Sacred Heart for the second consecutive year in the 2014 NCAA FCS.
With the victory, Fordham improves to 11-2 overall and advances to face the University of New Hampshire, the number one seed, next Saturday in Durham, New Hampshire. It will be Fordham's second straight trip to the second round of the NCAA FCS Championship. Sacred Heart closes out the season with a 9-3 mark.
The Rams' offensive attack were led on the ground by Chase Edmonds , who gained 91 yards on 24 carries with one touchdown, bringing his season total to 1,630 yards with 22 touchdowns, both school records.
In the air, Mike Nebrich completed 29 of 50 passes for 423 yards and four touchdowns with Brian Wetzel and Tebucky Jones, Jr. each hauling in eight passes with two scores, Wetzel for 166 yards and Jones for 139 yards.
Also adding to his school record was place kicker Michael Marando, who connected on three field goals today to bring his career total to 45.
