FIFA WORLD-CUP QATAR 2022 (SMI-SPORTS-NOV. 20- DEC. 18, 2022)-The World-ranked#4 and FIFA World Cup 2018 defending champions "France " triumphs over Poland 3-1, in the round of 16, advancing to the quarter-finals rounds of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The French team also known as "Les Blues"(The Blues) whom are defending their title and top contenders to win the Wold Cup Qatar 2022, advances to the quarterfinals to face the winner of England vs Senegal next Saturday.
An exciting game from the start with both teams exchanging counter-attacks most of the first half and France finding the back of the net with the clock winding down at 44' through Olivier Giroud to make it 1-0, over Poland.
An offensive attack through the left-side field, French' striker Kylian Mbappe passed the ball to Olivier Giroud inside the 18', who scored with a low left-footed to the far goal post corner sending both teams to the locker-rooms with France leading 1-0, over Poland at the half.
Olivier Giroud made history in the game by scoring his 52nd goal with the French national team and becoming the All-time France scorer surpassing Thierry Henry who held the record for a decade.
In the second half, the game picked-up where they off with Poland trying to find the equalizer and France searching to increase the lead to secure the victory.
France's top striker Kylian Mbappe scored two goals in span of 15' minute to sealed the victory of 3-1, over Poland and sending the French team to the quarter-finals rounds.
Mbappe scored his 4rd and 5th goal of the tournament to lead the scoring table
and becomes a top contender to win the golden boot of the World Cup Qatar 2022.
In another counter-attack through the right-side field corner French's forward Ousmane Dembele kicked a long rolling pass to the opposite side-field to Kylian Mbappe who was wide open and drilled a canon from inside the 18' to the top coner
to make it 2-0, France over Poland at 75' minute of the second half. And in another similar offensive attack through the left-side field and stoppage time, forward Marcus Thuram find Mbappe inside the penalty area who curved shot to the opposite far goal post corner just out of the reach goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to make it 3-1, France at 90+1 and sealed the victory for the " "Les Blues"(The Blues).
Polish's top striker R Lewandowski discounted for Poland with a penalty shot at stoppage time of 90+ 9" for the consolation goal for the Polish team.
With the victory, France advances to the quarter-final rounds to face England who defeated Senegal 3-0, in another knockout stage game next Saturday Dec. 10, at Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar 14:00 (ET/US).
