UEFA EURO 2024 GERMANY -(SMI-GLOBAL SPORTS-UEFA EURO 2024-JUNE 14-JULY 14, 2024)- Germans' Striker Niclas Fullkrug scored the tying goal in stoppage time as the host Germany & Switzerland played a 1-1, draw in the final group stage match of Group A, with the German team finishing first with 7-points while the Swiss taken 2nd place in the standings @ Frankfurt Arena, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Germany controlled the game from the start and out-performed Switzerland in game stats but the Swiss on their first clear counter-attack opened the score at 28' mark to go in front 1-0, over the host.
The play was originated from the left-side field corner, midfielder Fabien Rieder passed the ball inside the penalty box to Remo Freuler who centered to Dan Ndoye and who scored with right-footed volley at the upper left corner out of the reach German's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Switzerland had the chance to increase its lead when in a breakaway through the middle, forward Dan Ndoye kicked a rolling left-footed that barely missed wide the opposite goal post at 30' mark.
In the second half, Germany kept the pressure and went tot the attack from the start and had the opportunity to score in 4-different counter-attacks but either the ball was hit wide or the Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer made a spectacular save.
With 15' remaining in the game, German's head coach Julian Nagelsmann made a key substitution that seem to made the difference in the game by replacing Jamal Musial for Niclas Fullkrug who eventually scored the tying goal in stoppage time 90+2, to secure one that gave the Germans the first place finish with 7-points in Group A.
With the clock winding down in stoppage time, German's defender David Raum through the left-side field corner centered a perfect volley ball inside the 18', finding Niclas Fullkrug who scored the tying goal with a header to the upper left goalpost corner that ended in the back of the net at 90+2.
