MIAMI, FL (SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-JUNE 14-JULY 13, 2025)-The Inaugural 2025 FIFA Club World Cup kicked-off with Inter-Miami FC (USA) and Al Ahly FC (Egypt) opening game concluding in a scoreless draw, and both teams earning a points each in Group A, on Saturday's evening game with 60,927 crowd at Hard Rock Stadium.
The FIFA tournament will take place from June 14-July 13, with 32-teams competing across 12 stadiums, playing 63-matches and divided in 8-Groups with four clubs each and the finals to take place at Metlife Stadium, in East Rutherford NJ.
A historic day for the City of Miami, FL, Hard Rock Stadium and United States soccer sport by hosting the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup game between Inter Miami FC and Al-Ahly (Egypt) scoreless draw that kicked-off the tournament for all the soccer fans around the world.
The 12-time African champions " Al-Ahly" were more effective in the first half
as the offensive line went to the attack immediately and created four chances to open the score for the Egyptians but Miami's goalkeeper Oscar Ustari played protagonist not allowing a single goal in the first half.
Trezeguet on break-away through the left-side field passed the ball to Eman Ashour who was all alone with the goalkeeper and shot with a right footed bouncing off Ustari's leg at 07' mark.
Al-Ahly kept the pressure, and during a span of one minute two separate offensive attack almost find the back of the net for the Egyptians. A direct kick from 30-yards away from Wessam About Ali was Tipped-Off over crossbar by goalkeeper Ustari for a corner kick at 31' mark, and a minute later through a corner kick, Achraf Dari tried to score with a header from inside the 6-yard box but Ustari once again stopped the shot at 32' mark to the keep the game scoreless.
With five minutes left in the first half, in another counter-attack near the 18, Zizo
was brought down inside the box for a penalty call shot at 40' mark.
Trezeguet was in charge of the penalty kick and kicked a hard right-footed but
Goalkeeper Ustari was unstoppable blocking the penalty shot and send both teams to the locker-room scoreless.
In the second half, the host Inter-Miami took the initiative and went attack with Allende missing a great opportunity to open the score when he recieve a ball inside the 18, and his shot was block by Egyptian's goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy for a sensational save.
Eight-minute later, Lionel Messi shot a direct kicked a curvy left-footed from 25-yards away barely missing the opposite goal-post for the game to remain scoreless at 64' mark.
With the clock winding down, Miami Kept the pressure and during a play through the left-side corner, Lionel Messi centered the ball barely outside the 6-yard box finding Fafa Picault who headed toward the goal but goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy saved sending the ball for a corner kick.
In stoppage time 90+6, Messi received a ball from corner kick and send curvy left-footed to the opposite goalpost and it was saved in the top left corner by Mohamed El Shenaway to closed-out the first game of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup scoreless.
