Five players from the US, started the third day and second round of the US Open competitions, but only two survived this round with John Isner #11, and  Taylor Fritz #65, winning their matches and advancing to the third round, while J. Stock, D. Kudla, and Steven Johnson loss their matches and got eliminated from the tournament.

John Isner is currently ranked world No. 11 in men's singles by ATP.

He is considered one of the best servers of the ATP World Tour, Isner achieved his career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 in July 2018 by virtue of his maiden Masters 1000 crown at the 2018 Miami Open, and reaching the semifinals against South-Africa's Kevin Anderson and eventually losing in five sets (7-6(6), 6-7(5),

6-7(9), 6-4, 26-24 , in game that lasted 6.5 hours at Wimbledon 2018

Isner overcame Chile's Nicolas Jarry(6-7,6-4,3-6,7-6,6-4) in the second round, after being down two sets to one, battled Jarry into five sets and prevailed at the end with the win, moving into next face and will face Serbia's Dusan Lajovic #62 in

the third round of the US Open on Friday."Tonight it was a struggle. Really from

the get-go.I mean, he played well. He served well. I had chances. Five breakpoints at 3-All in the fifth. Disappointing not to break there. But I just kept plugging

away. The fifth set was far and away the best I played the whole match. So that's pretty encouraging, I think. It was a struggle at times, but I'm happy to get through." Said John Isner at the post-game press conference when asked about

the match.

In the other match, Taylor Fritz #65, defeated Australian's Jason Kubler, who was

forced to retire due to a broken ankle, late in the third set (6-3, 3-6,6-3), claiming the win and advancing to face Austrian's Dominic Thiem #9 at the US Open third round on Friday."Not as happy as I would be if I, you know, finished the match

and won it without my opponent retiring. I mean, I hope he feels better.I saw

the video of what happened. It looked really bad. You know, it's not the way you

want to be in the third round, but I do feel I have worked really hard and I

deserve it. So I am happy to be moving forward and I'm excited for my next

match. " Said Taylor Fritz at the post-game press conference about his victory.

" As young guy, definitely looking to compete against the best players in the world

and kind of earn my spot and show people that I can compete with those players.

You Know, I played Dominic Thiem (ranked ATP#9) and we had a really close match. I had triple set point to take it to a fifth,  so I'm a much better player than

I was last year, so I'm excited for this match".Said Fritz regarding about facing World ranked #9, Austrian's Dominic Thiem, in the third round.
