ERIC ADAMS Sworn-In as the 110th NYC Mayor after NYE Ball Drop in Times Square...!

NEW YORK, NY (SMI-POLITICS-NYC-01.01.22)-New Elect NYC Mayor Eric Adams was sworn-in as the 110th New York City Mayor during an oath ceremony after the NYE Ball Drop in Times Square, replacing outgoing Mayor Bill De Blasio who ended his 8-year term at 12:01 as NYC, the greatest city in the world welcomed the new year 2022.

 
Adams, who is a democrat was sworn-in by Associate Justice Sylvia O. Hinds-Radix of the state Supreme Court's appellate division and placed one hand  on his family bible and the other holding a picture frame of his late mother who passed away in 2020, recited his oath of office just after the Ball Drop welcoming the New Year 2022 in the Big Apple.

Adams, 61, faces the immense challenge of pulling the city out of the pandemic, taking office as the city is grappling with record numbers of COVID-19 cases driven by the omicron variant.

 

 

Eric Adams began his career as an officer for the New York City Transit Police and NYC Police Department where he retired as captain after two decades.Adams He then pursuit a political career in the New York State Senate where he served four-terms until 2013 representing the 20th senate district in Brooklyn. After his tenure in the senate, Adams became the 18th Borough President of Brooklyn where he served two-terms (2014-2021).

 

With his second term to expire  as Borough president of Brooklyn at the end 2021, he ran for NYC Mayor and won becoming the 110th Mayor of New York City and the second African-American since 1990 when the late David Dinkins was elected the 106th mayor of New York City.
