New York Cosmos Defeat Atlanta SilverBacks 4-0 in Season Opener !

NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,04.13.14)The 2013 NASL defending Champions "New York Cosmos " opened the season by defeating the Atlanta Silverbacks 4-0, during a free Pele " T-Shirt" giveaway,

and Honoring Pele in a sunday afternoon @ Stuart Stadium.

A Cosmos team that showed a combined solid defensive line and powerful offensive attack, did not disappoint the 7,906 fans that came to cheer for the local team" New York Cosmos ".The Cosmos were led by Captain Carlos Mendes (New York) who scored two goals within 15 minutes spam in the first half with New York heading to the lockeroom with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Also Spanish Ayose and Norwegian Striker Stokkelien scored a

goal a piece for the final victory.Cosmos coach Gio Savarese used social media to scout the revamped Silverbacks. He said his staff looked into Instagram pictures and practices via Twitter to "analyze each of their players they have individually and where they can fit on the field."
