New York RedBulls Overpower The Portland Timbers 4-0, on 2018 MLS Home Opener !

NEW YORK(SMI-WIRE,03.10.18)Carlos Rivas, Wright Phillips and Ben Mines powered the New York RedBulls over the Portland Timbers for a 4-0 victory, during the 2018 season home's opening game on Saturday at the RedBulls Stadium, Harrison, NJ.

 

New York RedBulls's 17 years old Ben Mines, made a sensational MLS debut by opening the score at 18' minute and his first goal as professional soccer player, when he received a crossover passed from Kaku, after a beautiful and well executed play between Carlos Rivas & Derrick Etienne Jr. for the 1-0 lead for New York at the half.

In the second half, RedBulls top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips entered the game and reinforced the offensive line, taking control of the game and setting up a strong offensive attacks the rest of the game. Wright-Phillips increased the lead for the RedBulls at the 77' minute, when he headed a bounced soft headed pass from Sean Davis to the right post originated from a corner kick from Vincent Bezecourt for the 2-0.

New York was hungry for more and did not want to loose the momentum when three minutes later at 80' minutes Carlos Rivas scored his first goal of the season to make it 3-0 after Bezecourt found Rivas to his right and added the fourth one at stoppage-time for the final score of 4-0.
