NYC F.C. Defeats Chicago Fire 4-1 & Takes First Place in the MLS Eastern Conference !
NEW YORK(SMI-WIRE,09.23.16)NYC F.C. used an explosive offensive attack in the first half to defeat Chicago Fire 4-1 and taking the lead in the MLS Eastern Standing with three games remaining in the season @ Yankees Stadium.
With the win , NYC F.C. improved to 13-9-9, extending it's home winning streak to seven and getting close to clinch their first ever play-off berth in club history."It was important game for us

New York offensive line wasted no time and took a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the half,
where a play that started with Andrea Pirlo playing a short corner kick to Matarrita , who crossed centered to Khiry Shelton who headed back to the goal, finding Jefferson Mena within the proximity and scoring with his knee for NYCFC in the 8th minute and first career MLS goal.
A minute later, Shelton once again assisted in the second goal, during a breakaway sent a short pass to David Villa , who maneuveur inside the eighteen and kicked a hard shot to the lower right corner to make it 2-0 lead.
Chicago answered back , when Luis Solignac headed for his second goal of the season after receiving a a cross centered pass from Arturo Alvarez, cutting the deficit to 2-1 in the 27th minutes of play.
NYC F.C. increased it's lead to 3-1 before the end of the half , when Steven Mendoza kicked a left footer torpedo from 23 yards away at the 44th minutes & scoring his fourth goal of the season, while Villa recording the assist in the play.
NYC F.C. captain David Villa sealed the victory scoring his second and 19 goal of the season of this grandiouse victory, when he received a pass from Shelton who recorded his third assist in the game, cut back on Chicago defender Michael Harrington and scored inside the far post from 17 yards away."Whe he is playing like that nobody can stop him, from the first minute the way he is fighting he is the captain and leader of the team and I think tonight perfomance it's one of the best " said coach Vieira of David Villa perfomance on the victory.
