NYC F.C. Overwhelm by New York RedBulls 7-0 in First New York Derby of 2016 !
NEW YORK(SMI-WIRE,05.21.16)The NYC F.C. soccer club collided in a showdown with the New York RedBulls and took a devastating loss of 7-0 in the first New York Derby of the season 2016 @ Legendary Yankees Stadium.
The anticipated match took by surprise the full house of fans from both team, who gathered and witnessed the biggest catastrophe game loss of NYC F.C. in club history.
The game was controlled by the RedBulls from the start when Dax McCarty struck in the third minute, getting on the end of a corner kick from Sacha Kljestan for his first goal of the season. The NYC F.C. defense seem to be stunned from this quick goal and never recuperated the rest of the game.In the 42nd minute during a breakaway from Mike Grella, who after beating two NYC F.C. defenders, crossed the ball to Bradley Wright-Phillips beating Josh Saunders with a header and scoring near left post for the 2-0.Wright-Phillips got his second goal before the end of half stoppage time, connecting on a bicycle kick after a Mike Grella cross was headed towards him by Aurelien Collin to close the half with New York RedBulls lead of 3-0.
The Red Bulls picked up where they left off in the first half, with McCarty again striking on a set piece before Homegrown midfielder Alex Muyl bagged his first MLS goal, helped by a layoff from Wright-Phillips, just before the hour mark. The rout would end with goals from Gonzalo Veron andGideon Baah, tying it for the largest margin of victory in an MLS game.
