NYC F.C. were outplayed most of the 2/3 of the game, with Atlanta have more control of the ball and creating more chances of goal with thier strong offensive attacks. NYC F.C tried to find tunning in their midfield and a counter-attack strategy to penetrate Atlanta's solid defensive line but could not find the net after numerous failed attemps.

The visitors scored their first goal at the 20th minute by Miguel Almiron but it was nulled due to he was found offside behind

NYC F.C 's goalkeeper Sean Johnson, after reviewing the video when the play was originated through a corner-kick.

The goal was called back but that did not stopped Atlanta, who kept

the pressure on the Boys in Blue. The couner-attack kept coming and

the goal eventually arrived at the 37th minute through a corner-kick inside the 18', finding Atlanta's forward Josef Martinez who shot a left-footed but was stopped by Sean Johnson and in the rebound Atlanta's midfielder Eric Remedi tapped the ball into the net for his goal of the season. With this goal in the first half, that's all Atlanta needed to secure the victory and head back home with a chance to

advance to MLS Easten Final.

New York went to the offensive and they gave it all the rest of the game but not luck or effectiveness.

NYC F.C. with (16-10-8) overall record in the season, will go to Atlanta to play the second leg game of the MLS Eastern Semi-Finals and look for the biggest upset of the year in order to advance against a very tough and talented Atlanta United team(21-7-6).
