NYC FC Falls to 2020 MLS Cup Champions "Columbus Crew " 2-1  at Home... !

Harrison,N.J(SMI-SPORTS,05.22.21)-Columbus' striker Lucas Zelarayán scored two goals via-free kicks within span of 10's minutes and stoppage time as NYC FC falls 2-1cto the 2020 MLS Cup defending champs " Columbus Crew" at the Redbulls Arena in Harrison, New Jersey..

 

With the loss today, New York unbeating streak ended, finishing the week third in the MLS Eastern standings with 2-2-2 overall record and eight points in the young 2021 MLS season.

 

New York controlled the game from the starts with consecutives  offensive attacks originated from the center field to the farside corners and a solid defensive line that neutralized the Columbus' crew offensive attacks most of 3/4 of the entire game. 

 

NYF FC opened the score first during an offensive break-away originated from the left-side field by Taty Castellano-who inside the 18' tried to shoot but his strike hit a Columbus' defender leg deflecting the baall back to him and immediately passed it to Ismael Tajouri-Shradi who was approaching inside the 18' and kicked a low hard far right shot finding the net and putting New York in front 1-0 at 17's minute of the first half.

  

In the second half, New York City tried to put more pressure offensibly in search to increase its lead by subtituting Tajouri-Shradi with Maxi Morales at 63' minute but the team could not find the Rhythm  and looked disorganized on the offensive attack the rest of the game.

 

With NYC FC leading 1-0 and what looked like a clear path for a New York  City victory, Columbus stunned the Boys in Blue coming from behind by scoring two goals within span of 10's minutes(81' & 94')-including the winning-goal during the stoppage time through two direct kicks by Columbus' striker Lucas Zelarayán, spoiling the win for New York and securing the victory for the visitors. 

New York played well overall but fell apart defensibly during the last ten minutes and stoppage time of the game by not protecting the lead and making very crucial foul-errors that ended playing a key role in the loss.
