NEW YORK, NY(SMI-ENTERTAINMENT, 01.01-01.02.23)-The New Year's eve annual drop of the ball celebration in Times Square known as the global clock-countdown for the New Year, kicked-off its 119th edition welcoming 2023 with bash of sensational line-up of live musical performers and thousands revelers who gathered to witness and be part of this this iconic event in the heart of the Big Apple.

 

The first Ball ascending celebration in Times Square took place in 1907, and ever since has become an annual tradition and global symbol of welcoming the New Year.

 

The 2023 NYE's drop of the Ball celebration was co-hosted by TV personality Jonathan Bennett and Jeremy Hassell ,and broadcasted live worldwide through ABC (“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest”), CNN (“New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen”) and Univision (¡Feliz 2023!).

The ceremony began with the lighting and raising of the New Year's Eve Ball on top One Times Square and closed-out with NYC-Mayor Eric Adams pushing the Waterford Crystal button that led to the 60 second countdown welcoming the New Year 2023 in NYC to the world.

Times Square 2023 LIVE Performers included :

    Duran Duran performed on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’          Eve with Ryan Seacrest” with hits "Hungry Like the Wolf", "The              Reflex", & "Rio"

• Chelsea Cutler performed several of her hit singles " Sad Tonight", "Devil on My Shoulder" and "Men On The Moon" and closing-out the countdown singing John Lennon's Imagine.

• JVKE performed his hit songs “this is what falling in love feels like,” “this is what heartbreak feels like,” and latest hit single “golden hour,” which is currently #15 at Top

  40 radio and has been streamed nearly 375 million times globally

• Jax performed on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” with hit songs "90s Kids", and "Victoria Secret".

• Ava Max performed on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” wih hit song "Kings & Queens", "Million Dollar Baby", & "Maybe You are the Problem".

• J-Hope performed on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” his solo songs “Chicken Noodle Soup” and “= (Equal Sign),” and a holiday mix version of BTS’s hit song “Butter.”

• Sech performed on Univision’s ¡Feliz 2023!

• New Edition who celebrated its 40th anniversary performed on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” solo hits like “Rub You The Right Way,” “My Prerogative,” “Poison,” “If It Isn’t Love,” and “Cool It Now.”

• In addition to the musical performers, The Sino-American Friendship Association (SAFA) presented a cultural

• performance from Hong Kong titled “Fusion, Motion, Inspiration - Hong Kong Rocks!” and ANEW, a New York dance group, who performed a collection of different genres of music to inspire the audience to begin a new Renaissance in 2023.
