NEW JERSEY/NEW YORK(SMI-SPORTS,10.03.21)-The NYC FC and Nashville SC played a scoreless draw (0-0), in an East conference play as the MLS play-off race intensify with 6-games left in the 2021 season at RedBulls Arena in Harrison, NJ.
With this result, the Boys in Blue gained a point in the MLS East standings totaling 40 points taking sixth-place with 11-7-10 overall record, and snapping a 2-game losing streak.
In the other hand, Nashville SC, who are currently in 2nd place and trying to secure a seed in the 2021 MLS East Play-off race, also gained a point as well in the standings totaling 47 points with 11-14-3 overall record and 5-points ahead of Orlando City FC.
A very tight and physical game during the entire match with both teams playing solid defense and neutralizing all offensive attacks.
NYC FC had more opportunities to score but the lack of synchronization and understanding in the attack between Valentine Castellanos, Santiago Rodriguez and Maxi Moralez contributed in the Boys in Blue not able to find the back of the net.
With six game remaining in the 2021 MLS season, NYC FC and coach Ronny Delia, will have to win minimum its last three home games in order to secure a spot in the MLS Play-Off competition that will kick-off on November 20, 2021.
Also, with the scoreless draw between NYCFC and Nashville SC, the New England Revolution clinched the Top-seed of the MLS Eastern Conference division for the 2021 MLS Play-off.
