New York RedBulls Defeats Columbus Crew 3-0 & Advance to MLS East Conference Final to Face Atlanta United…!

NEW JERSEY(SWIWIRE,11.11.18)-The New York metropolitan area (NY,NJ&CT), turned all red tonight (Sunday, 11.11), after the New York RedBulls defeated The Columbus Crew 3-0, in the second leg of the MLS East Semifinal match, and advancing to the MLS Eastern Conference championship final game to face Atlanta United, who beat NYC F.C. 3-1 in another semi-final game earlier at the ReBulls Stadium arena in Harrison New Jersey


The Redbulls, who won the 2018 MLS Eastern conference crown with a spectacular season and setting a MLS record for accumulating the highest points with 71, will face Atlanta United in two weeks, during a two leg game session with New York taken the second leg as the highest seed. This will be New York's third MLS East Final championship within the last five years, where they previously reached in 2015 losing to Columbus Crew & 2014 falling to The New England Revolution.


A game plan well executed from the start  to finish by the first year RedBulls' head coach Chris Armas, recording his first ever post-season win in the MLS play-off and with the chance to reach the MLS Cup Finals since 2008 when they loss to Columbus Crew, if they get to by-pass Atlanta in the MLS East conference championship in two legger games in two weeks.


New York opened the score in the 17' minute, when Sean Davis centered the ball inside the 18', finding Daniel Royer who headed-back to Aaron Long, who just being named the best MLS defender of the year, kicked a left-footed shot that was deflected off Alex Muyl sending the ball into the net for the RedBulls 1-0r over the Crew.

In the second half , the  RedBulls picked-up where they left-off, with continous counter-attacks and keeping control of the ball most of the rest of the game.With the crowd cheering and chanting very loud rooting for New York, the second arrived through Daniel Royer at the 72' minute, in a great conbination play originated outside the small area bewteen Wright-phillips, who passed it to Alex Muyl and who gave it to Tyler Adams inside the 18' and immediately crossed it to Daniel Royer who was all along and shot a cannon finding the net for the 2-0 lead of New York over Columbus.

With the RedBulls in front 2-0, and with 17 minutes left into the game, Daniel Royers  added the insurance goal at 76' minute for the 3-0, after receiving along pass from Alejandro Gamarra from midfield and taking a hard shot from 25 yards away for his second goal of the game, sealing the victory of 3-0 for New York over the Crew. 

The first leg game of the MLS Eastern Championship Finals will take place on November 25, 2018 at Atlanta United and following the second leg game on November 29 at ReBulls Stadium.
