HARRISON, NJ(SMI-SPORTS-04.09.22)-The NYRedBulls could not hold the lead late in the second half as New York falls to Montreal 2-1, during a MLS play and a Saturday's afternoon game at RedBulls Arena in Harrison, NJ.

This is the second time in the 2022 MLS season that the NYRedBulls has failed to protect the lead late in the second half when Columbus's Darlington Nagbe scored in stoppage time 90+5 to end the game in a draw 1-1, on March 20, at home as well.

New York came out strong and solid from the start, that on its third offensive attack they found the net at the 14' minute by Omir Fernandez, during a counter-attack through the left-side field Dru Yearwood passed the ball to Luquinhas who immediately gave it to Fernandez who shot a right-footed deflecting-off Montreal's defender Rudy Camacho and ending inside back of the net for the 1-0, NYReBulls over Montreal at the half.

In the second hand, The ReBulls kept the offensive momentum but Montreal surprisingly found the equalizer at 70' minute, when during an offensive attack through the right-side field,  Impact's Right Back defender Alistar Johnston centered a long ball inside the 18', finding Rudy Camacho who headed it to the opposite lower post inside the back of the net to tied the game at 1-1 and redeeming himself for the first goal of New York.

With the game winding down, an inexplicable confusion happened between NYRedBulls' goalkeeper Carlos and defender Tom Edwards- when
Carlos in trying to control the a high ball instead bounced-off his legs and  giving it to Montreal's forward Romell Quioto who was around the area and ran with the ball with an open net to score at 81' minute and seal the victory of 2-1 for Montreal over the New York RedBulls.
