Lewis Morgan Scores A Hat-Trick as the New York RedBulls Overpower Toronto FC 4-1, for Second Win of the 2022 MLS Season...
TORONTO, CANADA(SMI-SPORTS, 03.05.22)-RedBulls' winger Lewis Morgan scored a hat-trick in the first half as the New York RedBulls overpowered Toronto FC 4-1, winning their first two-road games to open the 2022 MLS season for the first time in club history, during a Saturday's afternoon game at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.
New York who won their season opener last Saturday against San Jose 3-1, at Pay PayPal Park in San Jose, California, earned their second consecutive road-game victory after defeating Toronto 4-1, and accumulating six points to share first place with D.C United in the 2022 MLS East Standings.
The RedBulls shocked Toronto when they came out blazing from the start, and opened the score at 16' minute during a counter-attack through the left-side field, Patrick Klimala passed a rolling ball to Morgan inside the 18' who kicked immediately a curvy right-footed that ended in back of the net near to put New York in front 1-0, over The Reds.
Seven minutes later, in another similar offensive attack through the leftside field, RedBulls' forward Klimala, once again ran with the ball and passed a rolling ball to the middle just outside the 18' to Lewis Morgan who was opened and kicked a hard low curvy right-footed for his second goal of the game and increase the lead for New York of 2-0, over Toronto at 23' minute of the first half.
Toronto cut the deficit to 2-1, at 35' minute during a counter-attack through the left-side field, when Reds' midfielder Luca Petrasso ran with the ball evading three defenders and passed it to Jesus Jimenez who ran inside the 18', and scored eluding two NYRebulls' defenders including goalkeeper Carlos Coronel to put the game 2-1, in favor of the Redbulls.
New York answered back with 2-goals of their own during a spam of 2-minutes, in a counter-attack from the mid-field, Patrick Klimala passed the ball to Morgan who ran with the ball all away inside the 18', scoring his 3rd goal and completing his Hat-Trick at 40' minute to put the game 3-1, and two minutes later, Aaron Long scored with a header when Frankie Amaya kicked an indirect kick inside the 18' from 32-yards away, finding Long who headed the ball into back of the net to sealed the victory for the New York RedBulls of 4-1, over Toronto FC.
New York RedBulls next game will be at home when they host the Minnesota United FC on their home opener on Sunday March 13, 2022 at RedBulls Stadium at 7:00pm
