NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,01.23.15) The NYU men's basketball team had four players in double digits & used a powerful offensive attack in the first half to rout Washington State University 91-67 in a UAA conference play @ Coles Sports Center, NYU University.

The Violets scored the first 11 points of the game and led by as much as 28 points during the first half with NYU heading to the locker-rooms leading 54-29."It helped us that we got off to a really fast start," said NYU Head Coach Joe Nesci. "We played with a lot of energy and we had a rhythm right away".

Washington State tried to make few runs in the second half but were neutralized  by NYU's defensive block keeping the Bears offensive guards away.

The Violets took full control of the game in the second half with a big lead and never looked back for the final victory.

"It helps a lot when you have that balance of perimeter scoring and inside scoring," "Your bigger players are then able to play with more space. It certainly make the offense easier and makes it more challenging for the opposing defense."said NYU Head Coach Joe Nesci after the game.

NYU were led by 4 players in double figures with Hakeen Harris scoring 24 points including hitting 6 out 10 from the three point line. Costs Gontikas added 22 points and a perfect 4-of-4 from the foul line & 4 rebounds.- Evan Kupferberg tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season while Ross Udine contributed with 11 points in the victory.

With the win, NYU shares second place in the UAA Men's basketball standing and improved to 11-4 Overall & 2-2 in the UAA conference.
