NYU Defeats Swarthmore, 69-49 & Extend Its Winning Streak 9-0!

NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,01.03.15)The NYU women's basketball team opened the 2015 New Year's with an explosive victory over Swarthmore College, 69-49 in the NYU Women's Holiday Classic opener @ Coles Sports Center, NYU University.The top ranked Violets came to this game with a perfect & undefeated record of

(9-0) and pick-up where they left-off 2014,using a strong offensive attack in the first half by going 20-0 & 13-0 runs & heading to the locker-rooms with a comfortable lead of 41-14 at the half.

NYU capitalized in 21 turnovers committed by Swarthmore College and comverting it into 40-18 points to put the game away and earned its nine consecutive win in the early season.

NYU were led by three players in double-digits with Maya Wasowicz, Drew Cabral & Amy Harioka scoring 10 points a piece. Wasowicz also had 3 out 4 from out the arc & Cabral recorded seven steals in the game for the victory.

With the win NYU improves to 9-0 overall & Swarthmore drops to 3-6 overall.
