NEW YORK (SMI-WIRE,05.10.15)The great anticipated soccer match entitled " The New York Derby" between the New York Red Bulls and NYC F.C., finally became a reality when both clubs collided in front of a Sell-Out crowd of 25,217 during sunday evening Mother's day & witness the NY Red Bulls beat NYC F.C. 2-1 with two goals by top striker Wrigh-Phillips @ New York Red Bulls Arena , Harrison NJ.
A high energy game where the NY Red Bulls went to the attack from the start and scored first in the 4 minute by Bradley Wright-Phillips when he received a center pass from the far right side field by Lloyd Sam and Wright-Phillips kicked the ball to the right side of the goal to take 1-0 lead.
NYC F.C. tried to create few offensive attack but were neutralized by NY Red Bulls defensive line at midfield.The game began to get very physical when NY Red Bulls' Matt
Miazga was given a red card and sent off the field at 36 minutes of the first half after receiving two yellow cards, leaving the Red Bulls with 10-men the rest of the game.
Both teams fixed its offensive line and NYC F.C. were more successful reaching Luis Rhodes goal in attempt to score.
In the second half both teams created numerous opportunities of goal untill once again
Bradly Wright-Phillips scored his second goal at the 52 minutes to
make it 2-0 for the NY Redbulls.The goal came when Lloyd Sam ran the ball down the field in a counter-attack and crossed it to left-side of the field to Sacha Kljestan who passed it to Wright-Phillips for an easy goal to leftside goal post to seal the victory.
NYCFC's David Villa was replaced by Patrick Mullins in teh second half and scored in the 76th minute after the Red Bulls defensive line could not clear the ball out from the 18.
