NEW YORK, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT-OCTOBERT 06-08, 2024)-The cast of the reimagined Classic comedy " Holiday", known for its beloved screen adaptation by Tony Award-winning playwright Richard Greenberg and Director Robert Falls, performed a special one -night only all-star reading event with a curtain call last Sunday's evening Sept 06, to benefit The Acting Company at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater in NYC.
 
" Holiday" is a classic comedy play known for its darling screen adaptation starring
Katharine Hepburn and Gary Grant by Phillip Barry.The Upper east side Seton family prepares to welcome free-spirited Johnny Case to the fold, but as New Year’s Eve approaches, the eternal battle between whether one lives to work or works to live threatens to break them all apart.

 The Acting Company brings professional productions and education programs, in-school residencies, and teacher training workshops to thousands of audience members and students in underserved communities and schools each year. 
 

The one-night-only benefit reading event starred Ella Beatty, Rachel Brosnahan, Lilli Cooper, David Corenswet, Hiram Delgado, Chris Perfetti, Carmen Zilles, Miriam Silverman and John Slattery with all the proceeds to benefit the Acting Company  who develop emerging actors and build enthusiastic, knowledgeable audiences for the theater in towns across the United States.

The Acting Company launched the careers of nearly 500 actors, including Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Mary Lou Rosato, Keith David, Rainn Wilson, Lorraine Toussaint, Frances Conroy, Harriet Harris, Lisa Banes, Jeffrey Wright, Hamish Linklater, Jesse L. Martin, Roslyn Ruff, Jimonn Cole, and Kelley Curran.



Notable attendees included: Ella Beatty (Appropriate, “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans”), John Behlmann (Tootsie, Significant Other), Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window, the upcoming Superman: Legacy) Lilli Cooper (The Cottage, Tootsie), David Corenswet (Twisters, “Hollywood,” the upcoming Superman: Legacy), Hiram Delgado (Take Me Out, The Hours Are Feminine), Chris Perfetti (“Abbott Elementary,” Moscow x6), John Slattery (“Mad Men,” The Front Page) and Carmen Zilles (Epiphany, Lincoln Center Theater); Playwright Richard Greenberg (Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain); Director Robert Falls (Death of Salesman, Aida); From The Acting Company - Kent Gash (Artistic Director) Erik Schroeder (Managing Director) and Devin Brain (Producing Director); The evening is produced by special arrangement with Eric Falkenstein.
