NEW YORK, NY (SMI-GLOBAL-ENTERTAINMENT-SPORTS-JAN. 23-26, 2025)-Payton Manning , the 2-time NFL Quarterback Super Bowl champion, and Co-founder of Omaha Productions hosted a special screening premiere alongside US film director Rory Karpf last Thursday Jan. 23, of the upcoming film documentary "The Buddy Way" with notable NFL, College and sports press attendees including; Roger Goodell(NFL Commissioner), Bill Cowher(NFL Head Coach Hall of Famer),
Eli Manning (2-Time NFL QB Super Bowl champion with NYGiants), & Robert Kraft (CEO/Owner of New England Patriots) at Paley Museum in NYC.
The Doc Film " The Buddy Way " is directed by Rory Karpf and Co-executive produced by Payton Manning and Jane Goodell and produced by Omaha Productions scheduled to premiere on January 29, at 5:00pm on ESPN.
The documentary film tells the story of legendary Dartmouth football coach Buddy Teevens, his inspiring life and tragic death. The winningest coach in school history, he built a powerhouse program at his alma mater that won five Ivy League titles in his 23 years at the helm.
Though Teevens' greatest coaching success came in the relative obscurity of the Ivy League, few coaches had a bigger impact on the greater college football landscape. The film chronicles his innovative approach to the game, passion for his players and willingness to take coaching risks.
In 2010, Teevens shocked the football world with the decision to eliminate tackling in practice - a move designed with player safety in mind. He then helped develop a robotic tackling dummy dubbed the Mobile Virtual Player. After Teevens and his staff were forced to reimagine practice, Dartmouth emerged as one of the top defensive teams in the nation. Teevens continued his revolutionary approach in 2018 when he added Callie Brownson to the Dartmouth staff, making her the first full-time female coach in Division I football history.
