Triple-Win for US Women Tennis at the 2018 US Open Opening Day …!

NEW YORK(SMIWIRE,08.27-09.09.18)-The 2018 US Open kicked-off in style with celebrities in attendances and earning triple victories from defending champion " Sloane Stephens, Venus & Serena Williams, closing out the first round and advancing to the next round at 2018 US Open tennis championship, taking place at Flushing Meadows NY.

The first day opened in style, with the celebration of the 18th Annual USTA Foundation Opening Night  Gala " Blue Carpet ", the national charitable arm of the USTA, where celebrities from the entertainment and media, walk the blue carpet and donate in support of the under-resourced youth, individuals with disabilities and wounded, ill and injured service members, veterans and their families. 

 

For entertainment, American's superstar, Kelly Clarkson, performed few of her classical songs and Maxwell sang the US national Anthem at the opening ceremony of the 2018 US Open.

In the matches, US defending champion " Sloane Stephens", seeded #3,

defeated Russia's Evgeniya Rodina in two straight sets (6-4, 6-0) 

in the newly renovated Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Venus Williams, ranked#19 by WTA beat Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova in

three sets (6-3, 5-7, 6-3), at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

 

And finally, Serena Williams, ranked #17 and 23 Grand Slam winner, 

even thoigh started slow in the court but finished victorious over Poland's

Magda Linette in two straight sets  (6-4, 6-0), to closed-out a great first opening 

day at the 2018 US Open for the US.
