NEW YORK, NY(SMI-GLOBAL-URBAN-PHILANTHROPY NOV. 08-12, 2023)-The National Urban League (NUL), a non-profit organization who promotes and advocates equal opportunity for the underprivileged in the US, celebrated its annual 2023 Equal Opportunity Dinner benefit gala honoring the Governor of Maryland, Wes Moore, Donna Epps (Verison, Sr.Vp) and Wendell Pierce(US actor & 2012 Tony Award winner) on Wed. Nov. 08, at the New York Marriott Marquis, in NYC.
The National Urban League was founded in 1910, and throughout the years with development of programs, public policy research, and advocacy have built a network of 92 local affiliates that serve 300 communities in 37 states and the District of Columbia with direct services to improve the lives of more than two million people nationwide in the US.
This NUL annual fundraising gala honors pioneer leaders in their respective industries media, arts and government who share and promote the same values or mission of the National Urban League in advocating equal opportunity for the underprivileged.
Leo Salom, CEO of TD Bank was the chair of this year dinner and hosted by the Award-winning Tv and Radio and US actress Bevy Smith.
The 2023 National Urban League " Equal Opportunity Dinner Honorees:
Wes Moore: Governor of the State of Maryland was honored with the "President Award
Donna Epps: Verizon, Sr. Vice President, Policy & Strategic Alliances was honored with Charles Collins Distinguished Trustee Award.
Wendell Pierce: 2012 Tony Award winning actor was honored with EOD Arts Award
In addition to celebrating the honorees, CEO & President of the National Urban League Marc Morial was also honored for his 20th anniversary leading the National Urban League.
