MIAMI  ( SMI- WIRE , 07.18.14) s no secret the Brazilian culture oozes sex appeal, sensuality and youthfulness, and Poko Pano designer Paola Robba's love of her Brazilian culture is prevalent in every piece she makes. Robba trades in color for whites this season, but while the color palette may differ from her previous collections, her designs remain innovative and fresh. Mixing and matching basket-weaving techniques, metallics and prints (including both floral and a bird-in-flight pattern), Robba adds a new spin to the traditional brazilian bikini.

 

More touches of Rio appeared in gold-plated hardware jewelry, handmade wooden beads, and a color palette of turquoise, lilac, burnt orange, and cranberry.

 

The Brazilian swimsuit label Poko Pano never fails the sexy factor. Designer Paola Robba sure knows how to keep up with a country's reputation. For this collection, Poko Pano embraced penguin-print, cheetah print, stripes, a yin-yang feel, and flowers -- while oozing sex appeal and diversity. It jumped right into the beaches of Brazil with a combination of sophistication and flirty fun.

Standout Looks: A black and white one-piece bathing suit with a cut-out in the back. We're totally against odd tan lines, but for this yin-yang ensemble, we'll make exceptions.

Trend Alert: Hip-hugging bikini bottoms that I'm sure love handles will appreciate.

 

 

We Could Do Without: The sometimes too-large cross necklaces worn towards the back. It looked like the heavy cross was about to choke the fragile models. Even to the front, the cross seemed to weigh the models down.

 

The Vibe: Nice (flowers, penguins, pastels) meets Naughty (cheetah print, and a devilish red, black and white color scheme)

The Cute Factor: The low beachy buns -- though very simple -- were nice to see instead of being distraught by freakishly tall or too-teased hairstyles. The models epitomized classy and sexy.
